Job Details

The Royal Borough of Greenwich faces an unprecedented growth agenda in terms of its position in London, the strategic expectations of the Mayor and its pivotal role in City in the East.  It is a significant growth hub where the expectation for delivery is high.  It is an attractive borough, on the international map but not without its challenges.

Be part of Greenwich's vision to successfully accommodate a high level of sustainable growth, which will have a positive and enhancing impact on the existing environment and community.   We are looking for key members of the team that will be instrumental in transforming the Borough and opportunities available for residents.

The Royal Borough is developing a number of sites within its ownership predominantly for housing, and the planning team is looking for a planning officer to manage a caseload of minor and major planning applications from pre-application discussions through to application submission and decision.

The position is within the Major Applications Team, reporting directly to the Senior Principal Planning Officer within the team who would also be dedicated to this project. The right candidate will ideally have previous Development Management experience of working on complex minor applications and small major applications as lead officer, with an understanding of s106 agreements and viability negotiations.

We offer a great opportunity to develop your career with a positive approach to development and a desire to put sustainable development policies into practice.
