As part of a major service transformation, Haringey is seeking to recruit to a new number of new positions. This new operating model will unlock the benefits and efficiencies offered by a new Parking IT system, as well as providing adequate staffing resources to take the transformation programme forward, ensuring that the service continues to adapt to a fast-changing commercial, legislative, technological environment.
We are looking to recruit 5 Compliance Officers who will be responsible for the recovery of parking income derived from penalty charge notices and enforcement notices issued by the Council. The post holder will also be responsible for protecting all other sources of parking income, ensuring integrity, minimising opportunity for fraud or other related activities that undermine the delivery of the Council’s parking enforcement service. The post holder will also investigate and identify fraudulent activity that undermine parking services as it relates to permits and disabled blue badges as well as undertake inspections on-street and when appropriate undertaken investigations to establish residency status of permit holders.
You will have experience in the recovery of income, investigating complex legal issues arising from non-payment of charges and replying to complex correspondence from a range of audiences. You will need to have a working knowledge of parking legislation in terms of income recovery and knowledge and understanding of Enforcement Agent recovery and good practice in operations. You will also need to have an understanding of IT systems, and using them as a performance management tool to track performance and highlight any improvements required and you will need to work under pressure and maintain a positive approach at all times.
