Your chance to make a difference…

At the moment it can feel that we are surrounded by only bad news stories. Which is why this is such an excellent job.

It’s a chance to get stuck in and make some positive changes across our community including having a life-changing impact on some of our most vulnerable residents and service users. You will lead and manage many of our outward-facing public services that people most value.

We are so proud of what we do to support our local communities, residents, service users and businesses. Although recently time has been taken up with our nationally-acclaimed work to support our response to the Covid-19 pandemic, it doesn’t mean that we have taken our eye off the ball when it comes to the day job.

Relevant to this post we are still actively and vigorously pursuing our list of ambitious major projects including consideration of how we might best continue to deliver environmental, leisure and community services to ensure that our residents can enjoy good physical and mental health, the continued provision of excellent parks and recreational spaces for local people to enjoy and the on-going work to ensure that our neighbourhoods are safe, modern, clean, healthy and vibrant places to live and work. The list goes on, but you get the idea.

As one of our two Corporate Directors reporting to the Chief Executive to form our Senior Leadership Team your energy, vision and creativity will carry people with you to drive tangible positive results across a range of community-centred projects.

We hope to be able to welcome you into our team.
