About the Role
Haringey Council are seeking 8 candidates to be responsible for escorting children, young people and adults with special educational needs to and from home and school/centre and other destinations on vehicle, provided by the Passenger Transport Services.
As a Coach Escort, you will play a vital role in supporting young vulnerable service users to access education by accompanying them on transport commissioned by Haringey Council.
You will transport service users in and around the Borough but there may be a requirement to travel outside of the Borough.
Shift start times vary and can begin from 6:45am – 5:30pm.
About You
It is essential that you have experience of dealing with children with special needs and demonstrate an understanding of personal responsibilities, in the areas of risk management and health, safety and welfare. You will need to be calm, patient and resilient, and be able to navigate in situations where challenging behaviour is present.
Ideally you will possess an awareness of SEN, knowledge of First Aid and/or PATCH training and experience of supporting clients in wheelchairs is preferred.
You will need to be flexible as successful candidates are expected to travel within the Borough of Haringey and outside of the Borough as and when required.
