About us

Camden is building somewhere everyone can thrive, by making our borough the best place to live, work, study and visit. Because, we’re not just home to UK’s fast-growing economy. We’re home to the most important conversations happening today. And we’re making radical social change a reality, so that nobody gets left behind. HR are at the forefront of this positive change and you can help decide a better future for us all.

The role

As part of our Schools’ HR Business Advisor team, you will be responsible providing a first-class HR service for a portfolio of Camden schools and delivering against a Service Level Agreement (SLA).  You will support school professionals with complex employee relations casework such as absence, capability, grievance, and employment tribunals, ensuring that any safeguarding issues are escalated to the Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO).  You will proactively use data to identify trends, to assist with regular reporting and designing appropriate interventions.

Your strong schools’ HR knowledge will mean you’re able to confidently support restructures, redundancy and TUPE transfers. You will take a forward-thinking approach to HR practices, regularly liaising with a range of stakeholders to influence and critically challenge decision making, along with developing a range of solutions that will add value.

You will have detailed knowledge of professional HR practice and procedure (typically gained through a recognised professional qualification e.g. CIPD). You will have a good working knowledge of employment legislation and trends, to support the development of policies and procedures. You will also have experience in TUPE transfers and complex organisational change processes, complemented by a good working knowledge of pay and reward evaluation structures (HAY/NJC), including a detailed understanding of School Teachers’ Pay, Terms and Conditions (Burgundy Book).

The successful candidate will be joining an established and supportive team and will have the opportunity to learn new skills and develop in their career.
