Providing and maintaining the highway network that meets the needs of all is something the County Council is committed to.

The Area Operations Teams leads on ‘first response’ to highway maintenance inspections and operations and ensure the safety to users who use the highway network.

Oxfordshire County Council is looking for Highway Officers to work within the North and South Area Operations Teams covering a specific geographical area with available positions Countywide.

About the role:

As a Highway Officer, you will be you would ideally have a Road Safety Inspection or StreetWorks Inspection background to this role. You will primarily support the Principal Officer to deliver the Highway Inspection of the highway service and operations that are attributed to the post.

You should be educated to at least level 2 NVQ or equivalent in a related discipline, or experience of working in a local government environment. With an appropriate specific technical qualification related to the service such as LANTRA - Highway Safety Inspectors modular qualifications or City and Guides New Roads and Street Works modular qualifications, you will have demonstrable experience, as well as carrying out data collection and analysis.
