Job Details

Royal Greenwich has a reputation for combining ambition with delivery. We are on a journey towards a low carbon future and the sustainability agenda will influence all areas of the Council’s work.

Transport and Parking in Greenwich must make a significant shift for environmental reasons, but the way we move around for life, work and play has considerable personal and economic impact. We want to influence and change how people travel but those changes need to be made with sensitivity. We are listening carefully to our residents and will progress the schemes that work best for our communities.

You will play a key role in shaping the Council’s ambitions for our future transport strategy, implement high-profile schemes and maintain a strong grip on the delivery of key projects. You will deliver significant projects and programmes such as public realm, traffic and cycle schemes, controlled parking zones and an expanded parking enforcement service as well as play an active role in supporting our ambitious regeneration agenda.

You will be a modern leader, influencer, collaborator and team player. To be successful in this post you will be as comfortable with strategy as you are with leading large operations. You will need to bring energy, tenacity and strong communication skills. You will thrive on data and evaluation to evidence and inform delivery and service improvements.

Above all, you’ll be committed to delivering an efficient, well-connected network that our residents love - with a carbon footprint that we can be proud of.

Closing date: 28th October 2021

We know we are not there yet at the senior leadership level and actively encourage applications from under-represented groups. We put equity at the heart of our recruitment and are committed to tackling discrimination in all forms. We are steadfast in promoting a diverse and inclusive community, an environment where we can all be ourselves, flourish and succeed.
