About Us:

Make a difference to our most vulnerable residents.

At the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster City Council, we hold shared values.

We believe that every member of our community should have the opportunity to thrive. From high quality schools for children through to excellent healthcare facilities, we share services wherever possible in order to give our local population the highest quality of life.

It is because of this mutual ambition that the Dual Diagnosis Team (mental health and substance use), which sits within the Adult Social Care department, is working collaboratively across both councils to support some of society's most vulnerable individuals.

And it is within this team that you could find a deeply fulfilling role in which you will have the opportunity to make a tangible impact on the wellbeing of our service users.

The Role:

As a member of this forward-thinking department, you will be working with individuals who have a severe long term mental health condition along with problematic substance use, such as bipolar disorder and substance abuse.

As a bi-borough team we benefit from funding provided by all stakeholder organisations, so we are looking for a proactive person who will act as a bridge between these teams and help us ensure we are making best use of this funding.

Managing the work of nine multidisciplinary colleagues across these organisations, you will see to it that we are meeting all legislative and statutory requirements, and that assessments, care plans and reviews are completed in a timely manner.

Allocating work across the teams, you will be responsible for budgetary management, and will be focused on meeting and ideally exceeding all quality assurance and performance targets.

Managing the performance of both teams, your enthusiasm for developing the skills of colleagues and sharing knowledge will ensure that we have a great pipeline of talent.

You will also form partnerships with Third Sector organisations, working across organisational boundaries, coordinating actions wherever possible in order to achieve the best possible outcomes.

Please refer to the Job Description for more information

About You:

To excel in this highly varied role, you will combine plenty of patience with a great degree of perseverance, working flexibly and empathetically to help service users get the best out of life.

With qualifications and experience in Social Work, Occupational Therapy or Mental Health Nursing, you will be a member of a relevant professional body, and you will have considerable experience in working with adults with mental health needs plus a dual diagnosis.

An extensive knowledge of substance abuse is essential, and your background in implementing service improvements will prove invaluable.

Ideally you will have experience of working with both the community and third sector organisations, and you will be a pragmatic problem-solver who can work flexibly and always see the bigger picture.

With great communication and influencing skills, your determination to make a difference will result in even better partnerships between our team and other organisations, so there is great scope to do something incredible here.

Join us, and you will be encouraged to pursue your long-term ambitions in a team who are committed to driving real change.

You will also receive a package that includes a competitive salary, a high-quality pension scheme and generous annual leave plus bank holidays.
