Our Neighbourhood Services Team is currently seeking a Traffic Engineering Specialist to work as part of this multi-disciplinary team contributing to the delivery of the Council’s Environment Strategy.

We are looking for applicants who are able to provide a high standard of professional specialist advice and support to ensure compliance with legislation, professional codes of practice and adherence to policy.

You will need to have demonstrable experience of drafting and processing traffic regulation orders and related statutory notices under the various sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and other relevant legislation. You will be experienced in designing and delivery of accessibility and transport solutions.  Applicants are expected to have a good understanding of the relationship between Traffic Regulation Orders, road safety and environmental issues.

With a relevant qualification or with extensive experience, you will be accountable for delivery of a range of reasonably complex schemes that require sound technical skills and knowledge.                                           

Experience in the use of Autocad and GIS is also required. Experience of Parkmap is desirable.

We are looking for professionals who can demonstrate an ability to manage competing priorities and remain calm, even when the pressure of workload is high. Strong IT skills and a willingness to learn about the latest techniques, software and technical methodologies are also essential.
