We are looking for Social Workers who are passionate, talented and committed to join our Children with a Disability Service. The Children with a Disability Service works with children, young people and their families across Kirklees. Working alongside the social work team is an Early Support provision, which enables Early Help to service users without statutory involvement of Social workers. We also have strong links with colleagues in adult services, SENDACT and other specialist services linked to Children with Disability.

Children’s social work in Kirklees is underpinned by a culture of restorative practice with high quality relationships at the heart of our approach. We will ensure that you have high-quality professional development and receive high standards of induction, supervision and management.

We have a bespoke learning and development offer at all levels of social work allowing you access to professional development opportunities enabling you to develop and progress your career. Our well-established career structure also supports us to develop our own managers and leaders.

We have an established and supportive staff team which ensures that effective joint working continues to be embedded with positive outcomes for children and young people.

You must hold a recognised Social Work Qualification and be registered with Social Work England regulator.

Travel is an essential part of this job and therefore it would be extremely difficult for you to do your job effectively if you did not use a car for all or most of the time. It is essential that you hold a full and valid driving licence and it is expected that you will either use a council vehicle or your own car.

For more information or to have an informal discussion please call 01484 221000 and ask for Joanne Simpson or Sarah Schofield.
