We are seeking a Head of Legal (Deputy Monitoring Officer) to take a lead role within our legal function. In addition to managing the team and your own caseload, you will deputise for the Director of Law and Governance, providing sound legal advice, and enabling the council to fulfil its strategic ambitions. We are open to applicants with local authority or private practice experience, however it is vital that applicants are able to demonstrate versatility, creativity, a strong governance ethic. and a solutions-focused approach. You will also need to demonstrate a sound understanding of local and/or central government law.
