We are looking to recruit a full time Allotment Officer to join our amazing team and help play a central role in creating a well organised, safe and enjoyable experience for all our allotment holders.

About the team

We are a vibrant team which values teamwork and a love for the environment. We have strong community values and are a social team. You will work as part of the wider Parks Team helping to maintain and develop Parks and Open Spaces across the borough of Richmond alongside active committees such as BRAG (Borough of Richmond Allotment Group).

About the role

The successful candidate will oversee the management of 24 sites and be the main point of contact for over 2000 allotment users, those interested in taking on new plots and existing plot holders.

We are looking for an individual who is resilient, can manage expectations and build positive relationships with allotments users, site committees, councillors and residents so we can provide the very best services to all our stakeholders. The role involves regular site visits to inspect and implement all guidelines and terms & conditions. There are administrational duties to the role including but not limited to, maintaining the waiting list, managing enquiries, and maintaining all allotment maps.

To be shortlisted to interview for this position your CV and personal statement (no longer than two sides of A4) will clearly evidence:

  • Knowledge of Local Government processes
  • Ability to manage your own time and complete all responsibilities
  • Proven experience of working with customers and competing workloads.
  • Comfortable engaging with various people from Councillors, contractors and residents
