This is an exciting opportunity for you to join Lincolnshire County Council's Street Lighting Team as a Street Lighting Design Engineer on a Career Grade Opportunity.

About the Team

You will join a team of 5 cheerful and experienced Street Lighting Design Engineers. The role of the team is to provide specialist knowledge and design input to major improvements schemes across the whole of Lincolnshire.

The Design Team sits within a larger Lighting, Signs and CAD Team who are a supportive team of 16 with a wealth of experience and pride between them. The Design Team also sits alongside other specialist engineering teams within the County's Technical Services Partnership (TSP), which includes Road Design, Drainage and Structures; there are about 80 staff in total - we just love to share our knowledge and experience with others!

About the Role

No two days are the same in this job , you will contribute towards the excellent work carried out by the team that proactively make improvements to existing street lighting assets. There is also a reactive maintenance nature to the job to resolve faults that the Contractor has been unable to easily resolve. Your investigatory skills are required to determine where the fault lies and determine a suitable and cost effective solution; whilst keeping the customer regularly updated.

You will interact with Colleagues, Clients, the Public, and Contractors to deliver projects on time and within budget. 

About you

You will ideally have experience of Street Lighting Design Software and be familiar with prevailing Street Lighting Design Standards.

As this is a Career Grade Opportunity we would welcome applications from candidates at any level of their career from; just starting out/entry level (@Grade 3 £18,812 - £19,948), up to experienced engineer level (@Grade 9 £32,234 - £35,745) or anywhere in between.

Should you come on board at a lower level then TSP will support your development to progress within your career post up to the top of the G9 pay grade (£35,745).

To realise the top of the pay grade you are expected to be a member of an appropriate professional institute at IEng or similar, but we will support applicants actively working towards gaining this qualification.
