We are currently recruiting for a Definitive Map Officer to work within our Public Rights of Way and Highway Records team. Doncaster Council is one of the largest boroughs in the country with a public rights of way network of 500 km. The role will primarily involve the processing of definitive map modification applications, including all associated historical and user research, and submitting evidence to local public inquiries when necessary. The role will also involve processing public path applications under the Town and Country Planning and Highways Acts, assisting with maintaining the Council’s electronic highway records using mapping based systems and supporting team members to maintain and enhance the network.

The role is based in the Civic Office but home working and flexible working patterns are available.

We are looking for a hardworking and conscientious person to work in a busy environment, providing an essential and valuable service to our customers, who can build effective relationships with customers and relevant partners.

The ideal candidate will have experience of working within the public rights of way field, will have a comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation, and experience of working with Geographic Information System (GIS).
