We are currently recruiting for an Engineer (Network Coordinator) to be responsible for coordination of all activities on the highway network.
The role will include the collations and management of data relating to all planned and proposed works, events and activities that may impact on the highway network. This will include the proactive engagement with all work promoters and Doncaster’s communication teams to ensure that clear, effective and timely communications are released relating to major works to internal and external stakeholders.
The use of GIS and other software applications is required to provide interactive graphical and spacial information relating to planned and proposed works to enable long-term coordination of the highway network and ensure that the Council major projects are delivered on time via effective coordination and network availability.
The successful candidate will also provide advice to a team engaged in the evaluation of permit works for Traffic Management requirements and prepare the appropriate documentation to facilitate both planned and unplanned road closures, lane closures and traffic control operations. When considered appropriate you will carry out traffic management site visits and evaluate traffic management layouts as part of the permit application process.
The ideal candidate will have experience of working with utility companies and their contractors, and a good working knowledge of relevant legislation including New Roads and Streetworks Act 1991, Road Traffic Regulation Act, Traffic Management Act 2004 as well as the relevant Code of Practices. You must also be able to demonstrate extensive experience in the assessing of temporary traffic management and temporary traffic regulation.
