You will work in the traditional areas of design, technical approvals, supervision and asset management, but you will also take in the inception and constitutional areas of projects.  The multi-disciplinary team you will be joining has professional engineers who work together across all areas of highways, intelligent transport, bridges, lighting, signs, drainage, and developer-led works.  With the Council containing most services under one roof you will also meet/get to know lots of other specialists, including our colleagues in transport, planning, building services and parks teams.

Reporting directly to the Team Leader for Major Projects and Contract Delivery we are looking for an Assistant NEC Project Manager to join our team.  A typical week for you could include:

  • Assisting the NEC Project Manager and NEC Service Manager for a range of construction contracts.
  • Contribute to the writing and compilation of construction contracts
  • Assisting the Team Leader putting together Feasibility Studies and Business Cases
  • Working with the NEC Supervisors to manage a large portfolio of construction projects.

We are searching for people who have:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent. 
  • Membership of a professional institution e.g. CIHT, ICE, IHE etc.
  • Ideally should be an Incorporated Engineer or well advanced in working towards that status
  • NEC Project Manager accreditation (or working towards).
