About Us:

Putting homes back in the hands of those who need them

In Kensington and Chelsea, we put local people and local businesses at the heart of decision-making, working in partnership with them to provide quality services that are responsive, effective and efficient. Following the Grenfell tragedy, we have brought our social housing stock back under local authority control and want to make best use of it. This means addressing housing tenancy fraud, including subletting and illegal occupation of council properties. We want to ensure Kensington and Chelsea emerges stronger and better from its current challenges.

The Role:

Combining the highest standards of customer service with rigorous investigative skills, you’ll gather evidence and intelligence to reclaim misused properties. This will include surveillance and home visits, as well as working closely with the Police, the Home Office and social agencies. You’ll manage cases from initial complaint to representing the Housing Service in court and will also advise unauthorised occupants on alternative housing options. Overall, you’ll help to build trust with residents, re-establish resilient communities and make Kensington and Chelsea a safer, better place to live.

Please refer to the Job Description for more information.

About You:

You will need to have a relevant professional Investigations qualification and ideally a background in social housing (in an area such as housing advice, homelessness or housing management). Working to targets as part of a team, you’ll combine sensitivity and integrity with a passion for helping people to establish secure homes. Strong written and spoken communication skills are key. You’ll also need to be resilient and firm.

In return, you can look forward to a package that includes a competitive salary, a high-quality pension scheme and generous annual leave plus bank holidays.

Please apply online explaining how you meet the requirements set out in the person specification and job description. CV’s will not be considered for this role.
