Job Details

The Place and Economy Directorate is at the forefront of making sure Cambridgeshire is open for business. We are proud to serve the diverse communities of Cambridgeshire and want our workforce to be reflective of this diversity, which we believe benefits our employees, the organisation and our communities.

The Local Highway Officer role is based in the Highway Service and provides an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual looking to join our highways team.

The role is to identify maintenance repairs and improvements and to work with Community Groups and Partners, dealing with customer correspondence from Parish Councils and members of the public. You will be an excellent communicator, both verbal and written and be able to build relationships with customers, elected members, businesses, partner organisations and other stakeholders.

We are looking for enthusiastic candidates, preferably with experience of highway maintenance or a technical background.

We operate from a number of bases across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough and we are looking to recruit to 6 positions across the county with roles in Fenland, Hunts and South, therefore the role will be based in one of our Highways Depots at Whittlesford, March or Huntingdon.

Interviews will be on the 9th July 2021 by Video Conference (Teams).

For informal enquiries please contact Steve Alexander by email (Steve.Alexander@cambridgeshire.gov.uk)
