Senior Graphic Designer (35 hours per week, six months fixed term contract)

The Royal Borough of Greenwich is looking for creative, dedicated, and enthusiastic senior graphic designer with a strong portfolio of events design, campaign marketing and branding, to join our in-house design team on a six-month posting. 

The role will see you work with services across the council and contribute to the creation of vital campaigns from brief, artwork and delivery, while also supporting the team on a more strategic level. We want someone who is confident in working independently and managing their own projects to create innovative and inspirational design briefs for the council. 

This role will have a specific focus on helping to design materials for the council’s upcoming events portfolio and new business and economic recovery projects. 

The ability to confidently pitch your ideas is crucial. Additional duties will see you working closely with the design manager to manage the studio workflow, mentor junior designers in the team, and implement our new business plan.

As a brand guardian for the council, you will be expected to provide expertise to senior leaders and stakeholders within the council, identify which materials could be updated or improved. You will also have the exciting opportunity to be part of the working group comprised of the design, communications and digital departments to develop new brand guidelines for the council, launching in 2022.

You will be working alongside a collaborative team of animators, video producers, experienced creative directors, graphic designers, and all-round design enthusiasts. We are based in Woolwich, but the role will comprise a mix of office and home working.
