We are firmly committed to deliver our vision for adult social care in Kirklees and we need skilled and experienced social care professionals to help us realise our vision.

As a Deputy Team Manager and subject matter expert in adult social care, you will be part of our transformation team working at the cutting edge of service design and systems implementation, bringing your experience and knowledge to help deliver our vision across our transformation programme. You will provide line management to team members including qualified Social Workers and you will provide support to the Team Manager to ensure the smooth running and effective management of the team, including being responsible for the team in the Team Manager’s absence.

This is a great opportunity to build your skills and knowledge and use your experience to benefit our small team that’s right at the heart of adult social care transformation.

You don’t need to have direct experience of working transformation projects, but we are looking for people that are good at making links, spotting opportunities and developing innovative solutions.

You must hold a SWE recognised Social Work Qualification and be registered with the SWE.

Travel is an essential part of this job and therefore it would be extremely difficult for you to do your job effectively if you did not use a car for all or most of the time. It is essential that you hold a full and valid driving licence and it is expected that you will either use a Council vehicle or your own car.

This job is subject to an enhanced DBS check. A conviction may not exclude candidates from appointment but will be considered as part of the recruitment process. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of vulnerable adults and children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
