Job Details

Our HMO Enforcement Team is seeking to recruit to a Senior EHO on a permanent basis.

We would like to hear from exceptional candidates with broad experience of Private Sector Licensing Schemes, enforcement, and with a can-do attitude.

Targeted outcomes for our schemes include Partnership working and interventions through Integrated Enforcement. You will also assist with producing training and advice materials for landlords and tenants through new improved webpages.

This post reports to the HMO Enforcement Team Manager and you will be required to lead and support a number of permanent and contract environmental health and technical staff to deliver our Licensing Scheme.  You will be required to work flexible hours, including early morning or late evening joint inspections of domestic premises, be competent in licensing procedures and enforcement, including prosecutions and the service of civil penalty notices.

You will be able to demonstrate an excellent knowledge of Housing Act and related legislation and be qualified in HHSRS, have strong written and verbal communication skills and a client-centered, methodical approach to investigation procedures, including cross partnership working. You will be able to carry out monitoring and inspections and will have an awareness of personal safety precautions. 

Applicants must possess a valid driving license and be able to provide daily use of a vehicle suitable for Council business.
