Overview

Hounslow is one of the most culturally diverse areas in the UK. It’s an attractive place to live and work, with miles of river, canals, nature reserves and open spaces. The borough has some of the most beautiful parks and open spaces in London, with no fewer than five historic houses and landscape gardens. Covering 23 square miles, it stretches from Heathrow Airport in the west to Chiswick in the east. The borough has excellent transport links: the A4 and M4 run through the borough and the area has eight London Underground stations and seven mainline railway stations.

The Role:

We are looking for a Head of Parking and Customer Engagement to join us at this critical time for Hounslow. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Traffic, Transport and Parking, you will be responsible for the delivery of the parking policy and on-street and traffic enforcement service, through a large team of Civil Enforcement Officers, CCTV Enforcement Officers. Additionally, you will lead, manage and develop exceptional, high quality, high performing, good value and efficient front-line operations and services in support of the council’s priorities and improved outcomes for residents and the borough. You will be responsible for the delivery of the parking policy and on-street and traffic enforcement service, through a large team of Civil Enforcement Officers, CCTV Enforcement Officers.

You will be leading on the development of a parking and street scene policy and service that is fit for the future; including the implementation of an E-mobility strategy to support the Council’s Green Recovery ambitions. You will also lead on customer engagement across the traffic, transport and parking division.

You will be ambitious in your vision for these services and ensure delivery at pace, to cost and on budget. Your professional accountability is to lead, develop, and deliver a first class, modern, and inventive parking and customer services functions, while working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, partners, and contractors. You will hold a technical qualification or bring demonstrable work-based experience that evidences an equivalent level of attainment and competence. As important is your experience of developing and implementing customer engagement plans, and your ability to identify opportunities to elevate our customers experience from their first contact through to completion and beyond.
