About the role

We are looking to recruit a Reports Development Officer to join the Business Intelligence and Performance Insights function in the Adults and Health Directorate to support the provision of high quality, accurate and timely activity and financial data relating to Adult Social Care services

You will be required to act as technical lead in the design, development and maintenance of the Adults data warehouse, reporting universes and reports library, working with the Head of Performance & Improvement, Senior Management and Performance & Improvement Service Managers to understand and meet the business requirements for management information.  You will provide technical expertise in and produce complex reports and data dashboards

In this role you will work with the Service Manager to ensure accurate, timely submission of the Statutory returns for Adults, and proactively support data quality and data management, to ensure accurate data and information is recorded and provided from the Adults business systems

You will also work in partnership with other departments across the Council, Social Care providers, NHS organisations and others to maintain strong networks and relationships and maximise opportunities to share data and expertise.  You will maintain a good knowledge of ongoing national developments related to research, data analysis, intelligence and associated technologies, innovation and best practice and actively contribute to internal and external health and social care informatics networks within the Council and across Barnet and London

About you

We are looking for someone with the following skills:

Professional qualifications/memberships
Recognised technical qualifications in relevant field e.g. data warehouse development and management, reports development, SQL development, plus recognised post-qualification experience and training and/or equivalent experience or training in a related business environment


Project Management
Experience of leading complex projects with a track record of delivery to time and to budget. 

ICT skills
Advanced SQL, experience of using and developing Business Objects. Knowledge and experience of MS Access.  Knowledge and experience of SAP Analytics and SAP IQ would be desirable as would knowledge of Corelogic Mosaic and Swift casework management systems.  Highly competent in the use of standard Microsoft Office products 

Research and Analysis
Knowledge of research and analytic techniques is essential with some background in statistical analysis desirable
