About Us:

Strengthening a coordinated community response to ending slavery and exploitation

At Kensington and Chelsea & Westminster City Councils, we look after a diverse population, which includes people living in some of the nation’s most deprived wards. Our challenges have become particularly acute during the pandemic but, by sharing facilities and expertise between boroughs, we have sustained joined-up services that put residents at their heart. This includes a strategic response to tackling Modern Slavery & Exploitation (MSE), which puts community awareness and action at its heart.

The Role:

If you’re passionate about creating change to combat MSE, you can make a real difference across Kensington and Chelsea & Westminster. You’ll be joining a supportive team of like-minded and committed individuals that addresses interconnected aspects of community safety, from homelessness to violence against women and girls. Bringing together a range of statutory, voluntary and community partners you will ensure a robust, coordinated response that increases resilience in communities at risk and supports victims. A key part of the role also centres on improving awareness of modern slavery and exploitation across the wider public through training, campaigns and awareness raising activities.

This position is a 12-month fixed term contract with a likelihood of extension.

Please refer to the Job Description for more information.

About You:

You’re likely to have a background in social justice or social care, probably within a charity, local authority or campaigning organisation. A passion for supporting human rights is vital, but you’ll also have the practical skills to make change: from sound organisation and collaboration, to creative problem-solving. The ability to work under pressure and to prioritise is vital. An engaging communicator, with good public speaking skills, you’ll be capable of leading projects and programmes across broad partnerships, but also of working with smaller groups. A good understanding of intersectionality and structural discrimination is essential.

Please apply online explaining how you meet the requirements set out in the person specification and job description. CV’s alone will not be considered for this role.

We reserve the right to close the advert sooner if we receive a suitable number of applications.
