The Borough of Broxbourne is in south east Hertfordshire, just north of London and the M25, with a population of 96,000. It is an attractive place to live and work and is just 25 minutes from Liverpool Street and Stratford International stations by train. There is also good access to airports and the rest of the UK. 

We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and self-motivated experienced procurement officer. 

In this important role, you will be the lead officer for procurement at the Council, responsible for the development and implementation of our procurement strategy and for providing expert advice, training and guidance on procurement and contract management.

Ideally professionally qualified with a strong track record of successfully leading procurement activity in the public sector, you will have excellent analytical and communication skills. You must be able to produce accurate work, have a knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and work well independently whilst being able to build and maintain strong working relationships with a range of colleagues and stakeholders.

The ability to converse at ease with senior officers and elected members and to provide advice in fluent English is essential in this post.

This role requires an enhanced disclosure and barring service check.
