Up to 2 positions on a fixed term basis until at least 26 April 2021

Following on from our recent successful recruitment, we are seeking up to a further two team members to work as part of the councils Commercial Environmental Health Team to support the work already underway to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic. These positions are available on a fixed term basis until at least 31st March 2021, but agency applications will also be considered from exceptional candidates.

We are looking for applicants who are able to work ideally full time, but part time will be considered. Due to the ever-changing demands of this work, it may be necessary for you to be available to work occasional weekends.

The ideal candidate will be capable of managing a reactive workload in response to Track and Trace related work and business advice roles. You can expect to be carrying out a range of work related to COVID-19 including onsite inspection work, completing dynamic risk assessments and offering support and advice, but also taking enforcement where proportionate and necessary. We have a three-stage enforcement approach – ENGAGE, EXPLAIN & ENCOURAGE and ENFORCE. 

You will have knowledge of enforcement processes and will be confident communicator who is able to work equally well in a team and independently. We are particularly interested in hearing from applicants from a food safety, occupational health and safety, public health, or regulatory enforcement background.

The successful candidate will be eligible to take part in the Council's flexible working arrangements.

The Closing date for the post is 15 January 2021 and interviews will be conducted remotely over the following two weeks.
