Royal Greenwich is a vibrant and diverse borough, with a commitment to providing high quality services to our communities.  The Directorate of Communities & Environment prides itself on the service it provides to the residents of Royal Greenwich.  We’re looking to recruit someone with commitment and drive, who will work hard to help us maintain our reputation for excellent Waste, Street Cleansing and Enviro-crime Enforcement services.

This is a great chance for someone with waste management experience to take on an exciting challenge and help the borough combat climate change and get the best results for our residents.

ABOUT THE ROLE

You will take a leading role in the procurement of new contracts and the management and monitoring of existing contractual arrangements covering waste collection, waste disposal, street cleansing and enviro-crime enforcement.

You will also be taking a leading role in assisting the Council to progress in line with national and regional environmental strategies, and to achieve its strategic environmental ambitions. As the Council seeks to take action on the climate emergency during a period of a tightening public purse, you will be at the forefront of changing how the Council delivers its services and ensuring it gets full value for money from all of its contractors.

ABOUT YOU

You will need to demonstrate that you understand any potential disputes or other issues and have a proven track record in achieving positive outcomes.

Excellent data interrogation skills, via the use of Microsoft Office products, are essential. Disposal contracts involve a lot of complex data and the candidate must have the ability to manipulate this data as required. Your duties will also include interpreting contract data to assist in financial projections and operational efficiencies.

The ideal candidate will have a flexible approach to work and great attention to detail.
