Job Details

Camden is changing on the inside to make life better for everyone. Because we’re not just home to the UK’s fast-growing economy. We’re home to the most important conversations happening today. And we’re making radical social change a reality, so that nobody gets left behind. As an Outreach and Engagement Officer, you’ll be part of the North London Waste Authority which will offer you the opportunity to be at the forefront of new developments in waste management.

You will support the implementation and delivery of waste prevention and recycling projects outlined in our ambitious Residual Waste Reduction Plan 2020-22. In this role you will work on a wide range of exciting waste prevention events in order to engage north London residents on waste issues; promoting awareness of the benefits of waste reduction local services and initiatives and contributing to behavioural change.

You will have a good understanding and some experience in waste management practices. The know-how and confidence to provide quality advice and awareness-raising to staff and community groups including at public meetings is essential. This will also include the ability to communicate effectively, including in person, at online events and in writing and express and present information accurately, clearly and concisely to a variety of audiences so the ability to build relationships with different people is a MUST.

You will have strong analytical and organisational skills; the ability to manage conflicting priorities, handle a busy workload and meet frequently changing deadlines is key to the role.

A clean UK driving licence is required for this role. You will also need to be flexible and available to work some weekend events and early evenings when required, with a significant focus on the summer months when events most frequently take place.

We’re ready to welcome your ideas, your views, and your rebellious spirit. Help us redefine how we communicate, and we’ll redefine what a career can be. If that sounds good to you, we’d love to talk.
