About the role

You will manage the assessment of the transportation and highway impact of development proposals, in order to facilitate high quality sustainable development to support the growth of the City in line with Coventry's transport objectives.

The key activities involve the day to day management and continual improvement of the City’s Highways Development Management services, providing dynamic leadership in the areas of Highways Development Control, Highway Design and Approvals and Public Rights of Way.

This will include managing the approvals of the design and implementation of developer proposals for new roads and improvements to existing highways and the operation and development of our Public Rights of Way, in line with the City Council's strategic highway and transportation policy objectives.

Who are we looking for

We are looking for an experienced Highways Development Control Manager, key activities involve the day to day management and continual improvement of the City’s Highways Development Management services, providing dynamic leadership in the areas of Highways Development Control, Highway Design & Approvals and Public Rights of Way.

If you have a wide range of experience of highways development control and public rights of way services, including negotiating Section 106 and Section 278 Agreements, assessing the transport impact of major developments and preparing reports to ensure proper developer contributions to transport infrastructure improvements, this could be the role for you.

We are looking for someone who has a detailed understanding of land use planning and transport, transport assessments, travel plans, construction standards and the associated legislation, guidance and standards.
