The Traffic Management team at Swansea Council help discharge the duties of the Highway Authority in compliance with the Road Traffic Act by developing projects to reduce the number and severity of collisions in the County area.

The role will involve managing a team of Engineers and Technicians in the development of their analytical and design capabilities leading to the delivery of a programme of work undertaken by the Council that is varied, challenging and often high profile.

As a result, you will enjoy an interesting and satisfying work-life with many opportunities to develop valuable skills and experience in the delivery of Road Safety and Traffic management schemes in this vibrant city.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a strong understanding and working knowledge of the legal processes in managing the flow of traffic and be able to demonstrate a full knowledge of the TSRGD, Traffic Signs Manuals, Manual for Streets etc.

The post requires a good working knowledge of AutoCad and a proficiency with MS Office software and Excel in particular. You will also need to be a concise, clear communicator with the ability to talk and present to a range of audiences and have excellent report writing skills.
