Devon County Council are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled person to join its' Traffic Orders, Policy, and Programme Team. The team provides a high profile county-wide service delivering traffic schemes. These range from speed and parking management schemes, to maintenance of signs, lines and road studs and equate to an approximate value of £2m per annum. The team’s work includes the design and implementation of all key traffic management interventions, processing all Traffic Regulation Orders for the Authority, maintenance of signing and lining, and taking a lead role on Policy Matters.

You will possess excellent communication, problem solving and organisational skills and be comfortable engaging with managers, elected representatives, and stakeholders. You will have expertise in traffic engineering principles and legislation and a good understanding of traffic management.

You will be competent at using computer based systems and have a good understanding of local government and democratic processes.

This role will require occasional site work at locations outside around Devon and requires the ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English.
