Would you like to play a key role in an exciting project supporting SME's within the construction sector and its supply chain to be more competitive? The Haven Gateway Partnership, a public/private sector partnership whose vision is to drive inclusive economic growth, is seeking an Events and Projects Administrator for its I-Construct project, which is a targeted business support programme funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).


This role plays a key part in delivering the events programme for the I-Construct project, ensuring a full programme of activity is delivered across Essex, Kent and East Sussex, both virtually and eventually in person.


Excellent communication skills are required to liaise with venues, speakers, expert contributors and attendees as well as ensuring each event runs smoothly.


In addition, this role will support the project team to work effectively and be the main point of contact for the I-Construct Hub, overseeing facilities such as the tech suite.


This role is funded through the 2014-2020 European Structural Investments Fund, for a 2 year fixed term contract. The Events and Project Administrator will report to the Programme Director within the Haven Gateway Partnership. This role will be split between home and the I-Construct Hub in Braintree with travel as required.


Job Purpose

The purpose of this job is to ensure the effective delivery of the I-Construct events programme as well as ensuring that routine and complex administrative support is provided to the I-Construct ERDF project team.
This role plays a key part in supporting the effectiveness of the I-Construct project events programme, office and team, ensuring that the team is able to work efficiently and that the outputs of the I-Construct project can be delivered effectively. Pro-actively managing their workload, taking the initiative and using personal judgement to resolve internal and external issues and having a strong working knowledge of the project.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

* Educated to NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration (or similar) or equivalent demonstrable experience.
* Significant experience of event organisation including liaison with stakeholders at differing levels.
* Experience of MS Office suite of programmes and their practical application, as well as the ability to use computerised systems with a high level of speed and accuracy.
* Experience of providing an extensive business and event support service including diary management, taking minutes, maintaining electronic or hard copy filing systems, and providing meeting support.
* Demonstrate effective communication and engagement with the team, project team, customers and stakeholders to ensure an effective support service, with an ability to tailor communication to meet the needs of the audience.
* Ability to manage time effectively and demonstrate a wide understanding of customer needs and being able to manage their expectations as well as solve simple problems and identify alternative solutions
* Experience of working with ERDF or European projects is desirable but not essential. However, the ability to demonstrate a high level of attention to detail to ensure compliance with the Grant Funding Agreement and a clear understanding of the implications to the project should this not happen is essential.
