Woolwich Regeneration Manager (Heritage Action Zone)

Fixed Term/Secondment Opportunity until March 2024 – 35 Hours a week

PO5 – (£54,201 – 57,964 – inclusive of London Weighting)

Woolwich town is undergoing a period of intensive regeneration with huge investment in new housing, transport, retail and leisure.

The Royal Borough Greenwich working in partnership with Historic England is seeking a suitably is seeking a suitably skilled, motivated and experienced individual to lead on our successful application for High Streets Heritage Action Zone. Woolwich Town Centre will receive funding to undertake a programme of capital improvements and cultural works in 3 key work streams:

· Shop front and façade improvements

· Cultural & Heritage Programme development 

· Public Realm Improvements

The project will also develop planning policy and conservation initiatives that support and sustain the improvements. It will deliver a comprehensive outreach and activity programme to increase engagement and awareness of local heritage for the whole community. Developing with local communities and cultural organisations opportunities to co-design cultural celebrations on what is unique about Woolwich and to commission artists and creatives to help support social integration.

This role requires experience of project managing and delivering heritage-focused schemes involving the built environment, an understanding of conservation area policy and management, budget management an ability to work effectively with a wide range of town centre stakeholders to deliver funding outcomes.

A good working knowledge of Historic England funded or similar schemes and an understanding of conservation areas and historic buildings is required for this role, as well as experience in heritage-led regeneration and an ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders and partners.
