About the opportunity:
We are currently recruiting to fill 3x permanent Skilled Road Worker (TRR) posts. You will report directly to the Contract Supervisor and be required to deliver on a broad range of reactive and routine highway repairs. The main position will be to carry out Thermal Asphalt repairs to the highway and traffic management and be an integral part of the winter service needs.

Who we are:
The Direct Services Organisation (DSO) is part of ECS (Environment and Community Services Directorate). ECS is responsible for a diverse remit of services across both boroughs such as parks and open spaces, waste management, highways, engineering and planning.

You will be joining an already well established workforce within the Shared Staffing Arrangement in the boroughs of Richmond and Wandsworth. We use Thermal Road Repair technology, an innovative method to repair the highways.

You will:

  • Repair carriageways using thermal road repair machinery, along with any other highway requests as directed.
  • Provide a skilled response to a broad range of highway faults and street furniture.
  • Plan your work in a suitable manner to maximise your productivity.

About you:

  • Have previous experience in highways maintenance, particularly carriageway repairs.
  • Prepared to undertake training in the use of Thermal Road Repair equipment.
  • NRSWA Certificated and hold a current Streetworks card.
  • Self-motivated and also an effective team player.
  • Able to produce work of a high standard and at an acceptable productivity rate.
  • Able to work “out of hours” when the need arises.
  • Hold a current LGV driving licence.
