Leading a large team of frontline staff, you’ll head up everything from Clean & Green Services to Traffic Management, Highways Maintenance and Leisure. There are major projects ahead too including the re-opening of rail links, plus key responsibilities such as Emergency Planning and Carbon Reduction. And then there’s our PROUD transformation Programme and PROUD methodology, which you’ll embed across your services.

We are building a new management team in the directorate. To be successful you will need proven strategic and operational experience at a senior level. You will be able to demonstrate highly developed commissioning and commercial skills but you will also be keen to develop them more.

Degree-educated (or equivalent) and an analytical thinker, you will have delivered Place, Environment or Leisure strategies, combining short-term reactive work with shrewd long-term planning. With this background, you will have the credibility to lead large teams and influence our partners. You will also need an understanding of our PROUD transformation Programme. This is vital and we will be testing what you know about our new ways of working, our culture and our corporate values.
