https://www.instituteforapprenticeships.org/apprenticeship-standards/gas-engineering-operative/

The Heating / Construction industry is challenging and ever changing, in this apprenticeship you will learn something new every day.

You will work within the Heating Team (Building Services) and with other teams to deliver a Heating Repairs Service to the residents of York. You will help in identifying new products and technologies associated with the Heating Industry and ways of improving the Council’s first time fix ratios.

The apprenticeship requires a commitment to study, which will include time away from the office. You will be expected to balance work responsibilities and academic studies, but we will support you along the way.

As this role is public facing, applicants will need to demonstrate, at interview, their competency to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public, in spoken English to CEFR level B1: Can exploit a wide range of simple language flexibly to express much of what he/she wants. Can keep going comprehensibly, even though pausing for grammatical land lexical planning and repair is very evident, especially in longer stretches of free production.

Due to the eligibility criteria for this apprenticeship, we can only accept applications from those who do not already hold qualifications at the same or higher level, in this area of work.

To be eligible for this apprenticeship you must have been resident in the UK or an EEA country for at least three years, and hold the right to work.
