Job Details
Cambridgeshire County Council delivers services across areas such as transport, new infrastructure, roads, and the environment. It aims to manage and deliver the growth and development of sustainable communities, meet the challenges of climate change and enhance the natural environment. This role is based within the Highways service which manages, maintains and improves the county’s transport network and is responsible for the county's transport assets.
The Highways service operates from a number of bases across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, with a central base in Huntingdon. We are flexible about work location, but the ability to travel to different locations is essential.
We’re looking for strong team players interested in working with a variety of professional and community partners across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough and you’ll be joining a team that prides itself in developing talent with a wide range of projects to deliver on a rolling annual programme.
If you’re looking to start a career in highways this role could be ideal for you. As a Technician, you will work alongside project team members to deliver some of the service’s larger highway schemes as well as having responsibility for leading your own highway projects. The role is extremely varied and as such gives excellent opportunities to learn and develop as part of a great team.
You will need a willingness to learn, good communication skills and be able to demonstrate you can work as part of a team. No previous experience is necessary.
Interviews will be held on 31st March 2020.
For informal enquiries please contact Matt Staton, Interim Highway Projects and Road Safety Manager on 01223 699652
