Devon County Council’s Highways and Traffic Management Team are looking for a dynamic and self-motivated individual to lead the Traffic Management Group.

This is an exciting time for the Service with the immediate introduction of a new Permit scheme and significant programme of redesign and improvement.

You will have significant experience in the sector and be familiar with legislation related to highways and traffic management, particularly the Traffic Management Act 2004 and New Roads & Street Works Act 1991.

The successful candidate who will be the County Council’s Traffic Manager, will be responsible for the safe operation, co-ordination and management of all highway activities including the enforcement of civil parking to support the Council’s strategic objectives.  Through a new Highways Operations and Control Centre they will take responsibility for emergency response and winter maintenance operations.

Our location is currently County Hall but from April 2020 will be relocating to Sowton Industrial Estate, Exeter.
