Gloucestershire, a magnet county- our vision for 2050

Bringing this vision to life is our role. We are focused on the sustainable growth of the economy by developing jobs, housing and the transport infrastructure across a diverse county with outstanding potential. This will be change on an unprecedented scale.

This is an exciting time for talented, self-driven professionals to join our team as we take our 2050 vision forward - thinking creatively about our role in making it happen. We are leading the way in revitalising and delivering transport and infrastructure schemes around known and planned housing growth. Our Highways Development Management section is at the heart of this work in conjunction with our skilled Transport Planners while our award winning Highways Projects Team are responsible for portfolios of over £40 million.

If you want to play a role in making Gloucestershire a magnet county while building your own career, we have the above roles available now.

We are looking for those who will quickly understand the Gloucestershire context and can display their expertise and solid professional experience in achieving ambitious targets. Relationship management will be fundamental and will be based on first class communication and negotiation skills combined with commercial acumen. You may not have local authority experience but you must know your subject as you will be actively contributing from day one.

The work will be intense and fast paced; we will expect you to think on your feet and be ready to tackle challenges to grow the County’s vision.

We are committed to investing in your development and operate flexible ways of working, so you may be out meeting partners anywhere within the region, working on your laptop in one of our staff cafes in the heart of the City Centre or working from home.

If you believe that this is your kind of environment and you have the skills to meet our needs, please visit our website at www.gloucestershire.gov.uk to find out more and to arrange to speak to us

Interviews are to be held on 5th December 2019
