Primary Authority Officer/Environmental Health Officer

Band F, £29,636 - £32,878 per annum

North West Leicestershire sits in a central part of the country and is served by an excellent road network including the M1, M42 and A50, making it easily commutable from all surrounding areas. Half the district is covered by The National Forest making it a very desirable location to both live and work. The council benefits from being well managed financially and from having a coaching culture; underlining the people focus and a forward-thinking approach.

The successful candidate will have responsibility for delivering the Primary Authority role with HMS Host UK Ltd. Your time will be evenly split between the Primary Authority role with HMS Host and delivering food safety and health and safety interventions within North West Leicestershire district.

The Primary Authority role will involve developing assured advice, auditing and training at each of the catering units located in the UK and therefore will involve travel and some overnight stays. Within the district you will find an international airport (the UK’s largest cargo airport at that), next door to one of the country’s major motor sport and festival venues, Donington Park. These bring opportunities to become involved in imported food control and the planning of large public events such as the Download festival.
