Victims Development Officer (Violence Against Women & Girls and Hate Crime)

Fixed Term / Secondment Until 31/03/2021

Location: The Woolwich Centre

We need a versatile and enthusiastic officer to improve services for victims of Hate Crime and VAWG issues.  You'll have a wide range of work, including developing and implementing initiatives to support victims, organising and delivering training and other activities to raise awareness among the public and professionals and building problem profiles for key issues to steer our planning and priorities.  Key partners will include our commissioned third sector services.

You'll also coordinate our regular case panels for high-risk domestic violence and hate crime cases, giving you access to information on local trends and issues.

The post is based in our lively and friendly Safer Communities team, working alongside staff tackling gang issues, anti-social behaviour, town centre problems, prevention of extremism and all sorts of crime reduction work, giving plenty of opportunity for collaboration.

You will need excellent partnership and communication skills and understanding of the needs of victims, together with knowledge of relevant policy and legislation.

Closing date will be Sunday, 17th November
