The Revenues Service is looking to recruit two apprentices to support our busy teams and help shape the future of our service.

Revenues Apprentice
Full Time 37 hours per week
Fixed Term Contract
NJC Scale 3 £18,795 - £19,171

If you're aged 16 plus and interested in starting a career with the Council, perhaps looking for your first job after leaving school or college. You will combine work with studying, working towards achieving nationally recognised qualifications while gaining valuable skills and practical experience.

These are new roles on two year fixed term contracts where you will work across different parts of the Revenues Service. Once apprenticeship has completed there may be an opportunity to secure full time employment in the Revenues Service.

The apprenticeship content will be tailored to suit the tasks you will be doing in your day to day work and you will receive support and guidance in building a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate your competence in the workplace.

The post holder should possess 4 GCSE’s, grades A – C, including Mathematics and English Language.

The post will provide the Apprentice with the essential training and experience required to pursue a career in Revenues. As well as participating in a structured training programme, the Apprentice must be willing to undertake all training within the apprenticeship framework will be expected to pass the Institute of Revenues, Rating and Valuation level 3 Certificate (IRRV)

In Revenues you need a broad skill set as you will be dealing with a wide variety of people from Council Tax payers, businesses and other support agencies. You will need to be good with numbers, able to interpret and explain legislation and be proficent with using IT systems.
