If you answered yes, we would love to hear from you!

The London Borough of Richmond Upon Thames have recently begun a program to replace all our street lights in the next five years and we are looking for a well-organised, motivated and flexible admin support officer to join our team of Engineers to enhance the efficient daily operation of the street lighting services.

This is a great opportunity to assist a closely-knit team of Engineers and provide comprehensive day to day administrative and financial support for the street lighting team.

You will:

  • Help to continue the efficient daily operation of the street lighting services.
  • Update the street lighting asset register and computer management system.
  • Record the installation of new street lights, while providing reports and statistical information.
  • Assist in the administration and payment of invoices on the Council’s finance system.
  • Liaise and communicate with contractors and members of the public in writing and by telephone.
  • Provide post-meeting reports ensuring documents are distributed within the statutory timeframes.
  • Provide routine daily administrative support e.g. photocopying, scanning, filing, faxing, emailing.

About you:

  • You will need to be a good communicator and have confidence to deal with people at all levels.
  • You will have excellent administrative, written, numerical and analytical skills.
  • We are particularly looking for someone who can work on their own initiative to tight deadlines.
  • It would be beneficial to have some previous experience in delivering projects.

You will be based in the Civic Centre 44 York Street Twickenham, although you may occasionally be required to work in the Council Depot in Langhorn Drive or Wandsworth Council Civic Centre or Frogmore Complex.

Please note this is a fixed term contract until 31st March 2022, with the potential to be extended depending on service need.

In return, we can offer you working arrangements that will enhance your work-life balance.  These include the opportunity of job sharing, home working (dependent on service need) and a generous holiday allowance of up to 31 days plus bank holidays.

In addition, we offer a range of staff benefits such as membership of the Local Government contributory pension scheme, childcare vouchers, new technology scheme, interest-free loans on annual travel cards, discounts at many leisure activities, restaurants, shops, and other establishments. A wide range of developmental opportunities are also offered.

Richmond and Wandsworth are currently reviewing our pay, reward and benefits framework, in partnership with Trade Union colleagues. We are developing different options that make sure we have a fair and transparent system in place.
