These posts are fixed term contracts for 6 months.

An opportunity has arisen for two highly motivated qualified social workers to work in a community/duty team across the Wednesbury and West Bromwich area.  All applicants must be registered with the HCPC.

We are looking for committed and hardworking qualified social workers to bring your experience, skills, and attitude to make a difference to the lives of the people of Sandwell.

You will need to be motivated and flexible with high professional standards and sound knowledge and experience of current legislation including the Care Act 2014, Continuing Health care, Community DOLS/LPS and Mental Capacity Act 2005.

You will be expected to work with vulnerable adults with mental health issues, learning disability, physical disability and older people.  You will be expected to work with a diverse group of individuals and partner agencies.

The role will mainly involve supporting the duty function of our teams daily therefore you will need to be confident in working on a duty phone, screening and sign posting contacts, working on our IT system (Liquid Logic) inputting information, and problem solving for individuals and carers in crisis.

There will also be a requirement to support the wider teams with undertaking mental capacity assessment/best interests decisions.  At times there may be a requirement to support with safeguarding investigations and carrying out outcome focused assessments and support plans.

These are 6-month short term contracts, but you will still be given robust induction, ample training opportunities and regular supervision. You will be working within friendly, diverse and supportive teams.

Hours

37 hours per week
