About Greenwich ReSET

The Royal Borough of Greenwich has made tackling exploitation and serious youth violence one of its top priorities. We are committed to tackling the causes of this, not just the symptoms. We believe that this is the only way to break the cycle and reduce the impact that these issues are having on young people, their families and communities across Greenwich.
Our new service builds upon Royal Greenwich’s existing partnerships with agencies and professionals committed to addressing knife crime and serious youth violence. It is also in recognition of the fact that young people affected by knife crime, serious youth violence and exploitation are often characterised as having a number of vulnerabilities, that when overlain on each other bring about a complex level of need and risk.

At the heart of our new service will be a ‘whole systems’ approach – by working with the child / young person, family and the community.

The new service will:

• proactively identify children and young people at risk
• provide a robust and highly coordinated response to address the range of underlying needs of the young people and their families such as the impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences, Special Educational Needs, speech, language and communication difficulties, the experience of trauma, exclusions from school and living in poverty
• use the full range of disruption and enforcement measures at its disposal to drive down serious youth violence

What next?

If you feel you have the necessary background, experience and skills to undertake this role we would like to hear from you.

Please include a supporting statement with your application, addressing how your skills, knowledge and experience would enable you to meet all aspects of the post, as outlined in the job description and person specification.
