Are you a Social Worker seeking a new challenge? Would you like an opportunity to work in a specialist team? We are seeking a Social Worker to join this specialist service, based in Scarborough. You will work with a team of Social Workers, and a Family Support Worker. 

This service has recently been under a restructure and it has been agreed that the service will revert to providing assessments and support services to disabled children and young people aged 0-18 years, and their families. 

This role will include completing clear assessments, planning and negotiating packages of support and working in partnership with parents, and other professionals in order to ensure children and young people have opportunities for community activities and short breaks to develop as much independence as possible and ultimately make a successful transition to adulthood. There will be a requirement to manage Looked after Children case work Safeguarding and Court work, dependent on knowledge and experience. 

The team are committed to providing good quality supervision, support and personal development for staff and to achieving good outcomes for children and young people.
