In Royal Greenwich, we have recently expanded our Disabled Children Family Support Service to continue to meet the needs of disabled children and young people and their families. We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed social worker, with excellent communication and organisational skills to join the experienced Disabled Children Family Support Team.

You will be joining a high achieving service that has excellent relationships and partnerships established with families, community resources and a newly expanded Short Breaks Offer.

The ideal candidate to join our service will have:

  • Experience and confidence in undertaking a variety of statutory social work duties as they will be expected to carry a varied of caseload including Section17 assessment, CIN, CP and Child in our Care work.
  • An ability to directly communicate with and seek the views of Disabled Children
  • An ability to engage and lead on effective multi agency work to safeguard disabled children, ensure their community inclusion and promote their independence
  • An ability to work in partnership with families and involved services to ensure assessments and plans are person centred, aspirational and outcome focused.
  • To adopt the role of a “champion“ for disabled children within Children’s Services and across the borough
  • Have an understanding of the EHC assessment and planning practice in RBG and the role of social care
