As an Engineer within the Highways Assets function, you will be a key part of the Highways Team responsible for assisting the Senior Engineer Assets with the planning, identification, delivery and co-ordination of schemes aimed at securing the safe movement of traffic and pedestrians within the Borough. You will support the development and improvement of our asset data and asset inventories, the preparation of Asset Management Plans, prioritisation and development of forward looking programmes of work, draft business cases, collect performance data, producing reports with the implementation of action plans.

We would love to hear from applicants who can demonstrate:

* Excellent planning and prioritisation skills

* An analytical approach to problem solving

* Experience in Asset Management

* Knowledge of relevant codes of practice, procedures or functions

* Ability to assess risk and hazards when working on the highway

* Experience of using technical asset management systems (Symology-insight or similar)

* Ability to work under pressure, organise your own workload and meet deadlines

This is an important role for Sandwell and if you are up for the challenge of improving our Asset Management capability we would love to hear from you.
