In order to better protect the highway network and improve quality control, North Yorkshire introduced a structured coring programme across the County. 

Sound like something you would like to be a part of? We are looking for a street works inspectors to join us! 

Our Street Works Team is responsible for enforcement activities outlined by the New Roads and Street Works Act, the Traffic Management Act, the Highways Act and associated Codes of Practice. 

As part of the Street Works team you will be based out of County Hall, Northallerton, assisting the Street Works Manager in undertaking the management and inspection of all works in the highway. You will also assist with the overall Street Works management and inspection regimes undertaken under The New Roads and Street Works Act (1991) and The Traffic Management Act (2004). There will be a particular focus on a reinstatement coring regime and with the preparation of associated technical reports. For the winter maintenance period you will assist with the provision of an out-of-hours winter service. 

Whilst an ONC (or equivalent) in a relevant subject, supervisor and operative accredited (City & Guilds/SCOTVEC) is desirable, it is not essential. An understanding of or experience with coring operations would be an advantage, as would familiarity with NRSWA (1991), TMA (2004), winter service experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Familiarity with the geography of North Yorkshire would also be an advantage.
