The London Boroughs of Richmond upon Thames and Wandsworth present a unique opportunity to be part of a Children’s Services departmental team who work together to provide appropriate Special Needs transport for our pupils within Wandsworth.

The Wandsworth Council’s SEN Transport Service organises the day to day travel assistance which could be a travel assistance or transport for children with Special Educational Needs to Schools and Centres both in and outside of the borough. This service is provided by means of travel assistance budgets, specialised buses and/or taxis.

We are currently looking for a full time SEN Transport Contract Manager to join our small team to support the Head of School Support and Traded Services team with colleagues to manage our bus contract and provide a busy high-quality service to parents, schools and pupils.

The successful candidate must have had previous or similar experience of working in this type of role and the essential ability to work closely with parents, schools, contractors and other Council departments.

You will need to demonstrate excellent communication, customer care and inter-personal skills, be highly numerate and motivated and be able to effectively prioritise and organise your own workload. Budget management, report writing, IT skills in Excel, Word & Outlook are essential, including proven ability to design and interpret and report on detailed spread sheets.
